The competition ran for 5 months, with 15 communities starting in December 2021 and 14 communities achieving measurable results by May 2022. The closing and award ceremony took place on 11 June 2022 in person with 82 participants.

 

At the final event, Norbert Pál, Chief Financial Officer of E.ON Hungária Zrt as sponsor and Dr. Gyula Bándi, Ombudsman for Future Generations, as patron greeted the participating families of the competition. Both emphasised the important role of individuals in energy saving, but also the significance of the supportive community and the professional background provided by GreenDependent Institute. 

Edina Vadovics, the Institute's Research Director, introduced different green lifestyles, while Kristóf Vadovics, Executive Director, presented the savings of communities and the results of the competition. 

The winning Csiribiri community's 27.83% energy savings was an exemplary success; the EnergiaKörTér team's savings were 13.23%, while the 3rd place Illyés Gyula Library of Tolna County community achieved 8.78%. During the day, the winning communities gave short presentations on their experience and savings tips.
