This half-year energy saving competition for households closes in May 2022. 

 

At the start of the competition, households in small communities assessed their own energy consumption habits, and then made commitments that they tried to implement during the competition (e.g. lowering the heating temperature or boiler water temperature, putting a heat mirror behind the radiator, measuring the consumption of all electrical appliances, etc.)

In addition, at the beginning of each month, they recorded their consumption in the calculator designed for EnergyNeighbourhoods.

 

Parallel, 3 creative challenges were also announced for the participants:

The first task was completing a household survey on efficient energy use; the second task was a so called carbon fasting.

The participating groups of households completed some challenges, filled in checklists and documented their challenges with photos.

In the third task, the contestants assessed their own households and drew lessons learned. There was an additional task at this stage, a climate quiz had to be completed, so that it was also a community event for each team.

The closing event and awards ceremony of this 10th season will take place on Saturday, 11 June 2022. We are preparing a rich professional programme focusing on energy saving and communities, and EON volunteers will set up an energy adventure corner for children. We look forward to meeting, talking and celebrating with the participating communities in person finally!
