Innovative solutions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, individuals and projects with outstanding performance in the field have been recognized with the prestigious international award

The EnergyNeighbourhoods program - which was launched in 2011 with the support of the European Union, and then since 2013 with the support of the E.ON Hungária Group - has been encouraging people who want to save energy and green their households for the tenth time. In the complex competition that lasts for several months, participants can reduce their energy consumption and thus their carbon footprint by organizing themselves into small communities and by changing their behavior without financial investment. The EnergyNeighbourhoods program, which is a great success each year, has won the “Engagement” category at the European Sustainable Energy Awards (EUSEW Awards).

The winners of the 2021 EU Sustainable Energy Awards were selected from a shortlist of finalists for their impressive contributions to transforming Europe’s energy landscape. The most successful, clean, safe and efficient energy projects of the year were awarded by an expert jury. In the Engagement category, activities with high social acceptance potential, that inspire and motivate citizens to change their energy use habits were rewarded. In addition to the Engagement category, awards were given in four other categories: Innovation, Woman in Energy, Young Energy Trailblazer and Citizens' Award.
