GreenDependent Institution in cooperation with Piliscsaba-Garancstető Association will calculate yearly carbon footprints of several households during 2020. GreenDependent also will donate 20 native fruit trees within the framework of the project. This collaboration will be financially supported of Daikin.

The main goal of the project is that participating households - and also members of wider community - recognize the carbon footprint of their daily lifestyle, which can be the first step in raising awareness, and can help to reduce it later too. Participants also have a chance to - symbolically – compensate their lifestyle footprint through tree planting.

As part of the collaboration, experts from GreenDependent also will hold two workshops for the residential community. The aim of the first workshop is to make the purpose and process of footprint calculation understandable and transparent for families. At the end of the program, another meeting will be organized to present and discuss the results and footprint reduction opportunities combined with community tree planting.

The specialty of the project is that Piliscsaba-Garancstető Association earlier made contact with GreenDependent about the need to survey the annual carbon footprints of many households, but they didn’t have enough sources to do it. Luckily, almost at the same time, Daikin made contact with GreenDependent too, with the aim of supporting a project about sustainability and tree-planting. This process has led to this unique, tripartite collaboration.
