An open-air pub in Budapest compensates its operation carbon footprint by planting 3500 native fruit trees

Kobuci Kert (Kobuci garden), a popular Hungarian outdoor pub in Budapest decided to undertake a radical and novel commitment: they will be the first club in Budapest to compensate the carbon footprint of their operation.

After calculating the carbon footprint of the pub's operation for the year of 2019, GreenDependent Institute determined that 3500 native fruit trees would compensate for the emission of their one-year operation. According to Kobuci Kert, they intend to do as much as possible to avoid the adverse impacts of climate change. They wish to establish a sustainable model in which music and green thoughts become connected and interrelated. They consider this compensation process as a learning process with their community, in the frame of which trees and thoughts would be planted simultaneously.

GreenDependent Insitute hopes that this long-term cooperation with Kobuci Kert will show an example for others about responsible thinking.
