After 4 successful seasons the energy saving programme ’E.ON EnergyNeighbourhoods’ will be launched for the 5^th time in autumn 2018, organised by GreenDependent Institute and the E.ON Hungaria Group. The programme's main objective is to promote low-carbon and green lifestyles among families, households and small communities.

As a new element, this year a 9-week social media (Facebook) campaign is implemented from the end of March in the frame of which interesting and useful tips, articles and news are shared on the programme’s social media page about gadget-free entertainment, hot water use, washing and a lot more. By applying these tips and following the advice provided, everyone can discover and map their household consumption as well as save considerable amount of energy at home.

During the community media campaign 3 challenges will be shared on Facebook as well. Anyone interested can take part in the campaign, make a pledge and share a photo of and experience about its implementation. The best ones will be awarded at the end of the campaign.

The programme’s ’traditional’, small groups based part will begin in autumn 2018 where groups of families/households (so-called ’EnergyNeighbourhoods’) can take part from all over the country. The EnergyNeighbourhoods campaign's main message is that significant amount of energy (and money) can be saved by changing everyday routines and habits, without major investments. It is also emphasized that climate-friendly, green lifestyle can be implemented by anyone, and the switch to greener lifestyle is easier in communities.
