TreeDependent Project – We are planting 462 trees this autumn

News: 22. November 2022.

TreeDependent – Responsible events, responsible travel, responsible lifestyles project continues: we have managed to facilitate the planting of 462 native Hungarian fruit trees in 35 institutions (mostly schools and kindergartens).

The trees have been financed by 6 partners of the project. 2 of them are companies and compensate the carbon footprint of their events, 3 are private people taking responsibility of their travels, and GreenDependent itself also compensates its daily operation (including commuting by colleagues) by treeplanting.

Moreover we assisted another of our partner companies to hand out 172 trees to its employees.

Healthy forests, sufficient energy

News: 22 September 2022

Our series about healthy forests, sufficient energy has come to an end. Here are the last two examples.

GreenDependent – as part of the Ne vágj ki minden fát (Don’t cut down all our trees) community - which includes civil and expert organizations as well as artists – is showing how the needs of those living in energy and/or housing poverty can be met in a more sustainable, greener way. Let’s make sure that we all have healthy forests, sufficient energy!

The examples (with one exception) were collected in the frame of an H2020 project called EnergyPROSPECTS which aims at raising awareness about the different forms of energycitizenship.

EnergyPROSPECTS International Expert Workshop, Brussels

News: 20. September 2022.

What is energy citizenship? How to conceptualize it? Which are the possible misunderstandings and ideological uses of the concept? Which are its potentials and pitfalls? How can it support transition processes towards sustainable, democratic, inclusive energy systems?

Organized back-to-back to the EnergyPROSPECTS partner meeting starting Monday May 30th, SONYA hosted a 1,5 day workshop.

The workshop served to explore and critically examine key assumptions about energy citizenship as developed in the conceptual work thus far.

The EnergyPROSPECTS team mapped 596 cases of energy citizenship in Europe

News: 20 September 2022.

During the first year of the project, the EnergyPROSPECTS team mapped energy citizenship in Europe: we wanted to find out about the diversity of forms of energy citizenship (or ENCI for short) – rather than conduct a representative analysis. Thus, the team mapped altogether 596 cases from Iceland to Turkey, from Italy to Norway, from Spain to Latvia (see the map). As our objective was to discover diversity, the number of cases mapped per country is in no way an indication of the overall number of cases to be found in the country, and neither is it an indication of which country supports energy citizenship more (we are conducting PESTEL analysis to find out about the latter).

But what exactly did we map? What do we understand by energy citizenship in the EnergyPROSPECTS project?
